Beach days are common for the residents of Kelowna as the city’s downtown core is located only a few short minutes away from the Okanagan’s pristine beaches. Spend a day out on the water participating in an endless array of activities like boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, stand up paddle boarding (or SUP Yoga!), parasailing, and more! Okanagan Lake is extraordinarily refreshing during Kelowna’s hot summer months while keeping the winter climate comfortably mild. The northern tip of Okanagan Lake situates in the quaint town of Vernon with the southern point of the lake being in Penticton. Okanagan Lake spans 110 km (68 miles) with Kelowna sitting about halfway in between each town. With all that lake, you never know when the Ogopogo will make an appearance – make sure to take a picture!
